To live well with less is to be happier, to feel freer, to be more fulfilled. It’s a journey that not everyone can make, but one which will reward the successful with joy and meaning, and a life of simplicity and intention.

My journey started in East London, at a flower market on Colombia Road. Glancing at a shop I spotted a sign that stopped me in my tracks. It was a simple, reclaimed wooden board, painted with a famous William Morris quote:

“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful”

The sentiment resonated with me deeply, and connected with something deep within my soul that has brought me to where I am today. I took the board home, parked it against a wall (as there was no wall space left to hang it) and glanced at it every now and then. Who would have thought a simple, wooden sign could bring about such changes in my life.

A minimalist lifestyle is not simply about not having ‘stuff’. It’s about realising where true happiness comes from, and working towards bringing more of that into your life. Decluttering and getting rid of physical possessions can free up that mental and physical space to really allow us to focus on what’s really important in our lives.

My first steps into minimalism did not see a great deal of purging of ‘stuff’. I simply asked myself what it was I could not live without and, after a great deal of soul searching, I discovered it is happiness. The big salary, the high powered job, the designer suits... none of this was making me any more fulfilled, and deep down I was actually desperately unhappy. I decided then and there that it was time for change, because life is too short to live without joy.

I began documenting my journey to live well with less in my blog, ‘Simple and Minimal’. I began supporting others on their minimalist journey, leading The Minimalists London Meet-Up Group. I have also been featured in various publications including ‘Completely London’'No Sidebar''Ecnmy',  ‘In Clover’,  'MindBodyGreen' and 'La Fringale Culturelle'. Over the years, my passion for simple living has grown, and ‘Live Well with Less’ was born. I am eternally grateful for the happiness, the freedom and the purpose that minimalism has brought to my life, and I am committed to supporting others to make a positive change in their lives too.

I am constantly discovering and being inspired by new ideas, experiences, people and places; evolving and growing as a result. I believe that life has much to offer if we are mindful, open and grateful for being alive.

I have a core and continual interest in personal growth, living a life defined by beauty and simplicity, and building profitable and sustainable businesses I am passionate about. I also enjoy a positive addiction to good books, quality bookshops, characterful cafes, artisanal coffee and food.
